Yes, you may all find this very sad and strange indeed, but for me this experience was personal. The Harry Potter films and books have been my childhood. For 10 years of my life I have been wishing and hoping that I would receive a Hogwarts letter. Yes I know I am 20 now but I will always wish for that letter. This years premiere we knew it would be a nightmare to set up camp in. So the idea was formed that we would pay for a hotel room, overlooking Leicester Square and watch the day go by. What a brilliant day it was.
The Harry Potter world has been my form of escapism, but not only that it brought together a life long friendship (I hope). I remember that day so well, two shy, pissed off, lonely ND students sats next to each other on the bus as we go on our first group trip which was horrid. Good times. But now this magical world has come to an end, film wise anyway. I am confident that the fandom of the Harry Potter world will stay with us for a long time. We need something in our lives to bring us that imagination and excitement, well I do anyway.
